It is the bypass route that provides the connection of the Western Black Sea Region to the Istanbul-İzmir highway and the city center of Bursa.

By providing access to the Gemlik and Bandırma Ports, it will contribute to the region's trade and socio-economic development.

The existing traffic passing through the town center of Iznik, which is an important center for historical and cultural tourism, will be diverted outside the city. With the completion of the project, road standards will increase, the project speed will rise from 30 km/h to 110 km/h, and travel time will decrease from 11 minutes to 4 minutes. Seamless access to residential areas will be provided with the inclusion of 5 different-level intersections in the project.
